Projects
From the first idea to the last photo
Real people, real trips: the Hafford team, our families and our friends.
Wayfare is a travel app for planning a trip with friends, living it, and looking back on it. Pick a place and it plans the days around how you like to travel. On the trip, the plan, the packing list and the shared costs stay in step for everyone, and settling up is paid through the bank. Afterwards, the photos and notes become a journal of the trip. We designed and built it for iOS and Android.
Plan a trip
Vjosa picks Santorini, names the trip and adds the three friends going with her. She chooses a relaxed pace, beaches, views and good food, and Wayfare plans three days around them, each day’s stops close together and in walking order. Her friends join with an invite link, and from then on the trip updates live for all four.
On the trip
Day two of a long weekend in Lisbon. The flight and the hotel were pulled in and filed into the right days on their own, and when a stop is marked visited the rest of the day re-times itself. Everything is saved on the phone first and synced to the group, so it works with no signal. Dinner goes in once, in euros, split four ways and converted into each person’s home currency. Wayfare is connected to the travelers’ banks: it works out who pays whom in the fewest payments, and one tap pays it, bank to bank, inside the app. Reminders arrive on Lisbon’s clock, not the phone’s.
Relive it
A real trip: the Hafford team and friends, four days on the road through Albania. When the last day ends, the trip becomes a memory: the places, kilometers and photos it added up to, awards and achievements for the group, and every photo and note, day by day. The photos come in from the camera roll on their own, matched to the day and place they were taken, and one card sums up the whole trip, ready to share.
